It is a combination of a distant memory of coconut and pineapple sun lotion, a delicate but disturbing note of sunburnt, salty and sweaty skin, which gives a new twist to the amber chord.
Francesca Bianchi doesn't make nice perfumes. She makes honest ones. Sex and The Sea was born out of that search for what summer really smells like when no one is posing for a photo: dry sweat, salt on the back of your neck, sunscreen on your wrist. Something you recognise without knowing exactly what it is.
It's not a fragrance to impress from afar. It's so that whoever is near wants to know what you're wearing. One of those that generate conversation without you saying anything.
