When Clementine Cope set foot in the snow below her knees, she knew it was for the last time. When she left the rural Montana home she had grown up in, with no plans but to follow the setting sun, she got up every morning and walked out into the warmth; she dreamed of Dennis Wilson, pushing shovels in the sand.
His journey covers thousands of kilometres and gives him his first glimpse of the ocean. When summer arrives, Clem is consumed by an incomprehensible joy. He finally stops travelling when he heads to a ramshackle surf camp with his new friends in the hills of Topanga, California. Now, for the first time, he realises that his journey has only just begun.
