It is getting ready. It is a beautiful day. The sky is blue. She puts her bare foot on the floor and, like a dancer, walks the distance from the hall of mirrors to the dressing table. It is one of her favourite places. She likes to make herself beautiful there. There are only flowers from the garden, and her two hands, fresh and clean, seem to twirl around her. Her right hand, nimble and light, picks up the powder, then a bottle of perfume. Her left hand grabs eye shadow and nude lipstick. Next, she goes to the wardrobe, where she picks out a light dress and fixes a rebellious strap. She slips on a pair of heels and fastens a belt. As she does every morning, she heads for her flower-filled balcony. It is on the fourth floor and overlooks the gardens of the Palais Royal. She is happy and thinks about the day ahead, smiling.
