Frederic Malle's Contre-Jour perfume, created by perfumer Annick Ménardo, is a fragrance that challenges the classic structures of perfumery. Conceived as a free and indomitable presence, its trail captures the contrast between Mediterranean light and the deep shadows that define its character. It is not simply a perfume: it is a statement of personality.
The inspiration comes from the immortal flower - known as everlasting flower - a wild Mediterranean plant famous for its extraordinary longevity. Its scent has a warm, spicy character with slightly almondy nuances that give the fragrance its identity from the very first moment. This luminous, sunny accord unfolds naturally on the skin.
At the heart is an intense damascena rose that adds depth and contrast. This rose is presented with a more complex and expressive texture, accompanying the spicy facets of the immortal flower and creating a dialogue between delicacy and character.
The base rests on a creamy, enveloping sandalwood that adds rhythm and structure to the composition. The result is an elegant and contemporary spicy aromatic fragrance that evolves softly on the skin, leaving a warm, luminous and mysterious trail.
