Amber Kiso is an ambery, woody and contemplative perfume that reinterprets amber from an unexpected perspective: the sober and deep spirituality of feudal Japan. Launched in 2018 by D.S. & Durga, This Eau de Parfum moves away from the classic European amber -sweet, resinous and vanilla- to build a drier, cleaner and more luminous version, where silence and matter have the same weight as the scent.
From the first spray, the fragrance opens with a fresh, forest-like sensation. The cypress, the hinoki and the Japanese cedar create a clear, vertical atmosphere, like light filtering through moss-covered ancient trees. There is no stridency or excess: everything is balance, space and breath.
In the heart, incense appears serene and meditative, evoking wooden temples, slow rituals and sacred smoke rising in silence. The iris brings a powdery softness that refines the composition and adds an almost mineral-like texture, while the clean leather chord introduces a discreet but assertive presence, inspired by traditional samurai armour.
The background reveals the real depth of the perfume. The amber, worked as an abstraction of trapped light, it merges with patchouli y tree moss, creating an earthy, dry and enveloping base. A subtle nuance of maple It brings warmth without overt sweetness, while maintaining the austere and elegant character of the whole.
Unlike dense amber perfumes, Amber Kiso is introspective and minimalist. A fragrance that does not invade, but accompanies. Its trail is restrained, its presence profound and its character deeply spiritual.
